Education is very obviously a priority for Paul Mengert, AMG (Association Management Group) chief executive officer. After all, it’s a core concept of the firm, which he himself founded. Of course, if you look at his own background, education was always important. He started his undergraduate studies as a Political Science and Communications major at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and followed that up in 1990 with a certification as a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). That wasn’t enough, however, as he went on to Harvard Business School, graduating in 2005. He has also served on the national senior faculty for the Community Associations Institute.

Besides showing homeowners’ associations and their personnel how to be more effective in their approach, Paul Mengert and AMG also fulfill a basic desire of Paul Mengert, in that they also participate in activities designed to make the community better. Community is very important to Paul Mengert. AMG has recently worked on a very successful food drive for Greensboro Urban Ministry, for example. The food gathered was distributed to the hungry throughout Greater Greensboro. It was a great moment for Paul and AMG. It’s why he located the firm there in the first place; to provide support for his native Greensboro.

He also supports the community’s business climate. More than fifty local companies have sent executives to the Management Development Program, including major corporations like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Carolina CAT, CC. Dickson Co., Duke Energy, Microsoft, Pfizer, and now Association Management Group. Paul Mengert has been happy to be able to be a part of this valuable program and to learn a few things from it himself. Best of all, the program benefits local charities. After the expenses of the program are covered, the balance of the proceeds are donated to local non-profits like A Child’s Place, Catherine’s House, Buddy Kemp Caring House, and others, with more than $350,000 being donated thus far.
